The Middle East is an area where car is king and fuel is inexpensive, typically leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly ways of walking around.

But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have risen the cost of oil, the problem of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.

In an area that has one of the greatest carbon footprints in the world, one business is benefiting from the growing pressure to find alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's proving successful too, already their client-list consists of McDonald's.
